An End...

3 out of 4 movies that I've watch in the time frame of 7 days has shown hope to the hopeless, courage for the cowardice, and strength for the weak.

First was the Bridge to Terabithia on last Friday which I went with Daniel Alfred which the only part of the movie that really planted an impact was the part where Leslie Burke died *poor...she's so sweet!*. She brought imagination into Jesse Oliver's life...who was a artistic but a lonely kid. Leslie on the other hand had about the same luck on getting friends too until she met Jesse. After finding Terabithia, both Leslie and Jesse bonded well as they spend time away from reality and enter the imaginary world. Why did she had to die in that movie?..so that Jesse can regret that he didn't bring Leslie along to the museum?that he was selfish and wanted time alone with his hot chick music teacher? For me, he took her for granted...wanting time away from her that he didn't know that she will die on that day. Leslie was always there for Jesse, supporting him and encouraging him as he was always alone before she appeared in his life..Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket. Among the sweetest thing she did was getting him a box full of paint knowing that his passion was drawing. But did he really appreciate her? or it was just a brief moment of appreciation when he received the present? It was too late when he realized how important Leslie was to him and nothing can bring her back from the dead. That's how I look at it...that we can never ever take a loved one for granted though it's only for a day...

Six days later....I skipped my first class for this semester to watch Pan's Labyrinth with my beloved and Steph Teoh. Though I had watched bout half the movie *skipped parts* at home but I enjoyed and understood the whole movie on Thursday itself. Princess Moanna was curious about the outside world that she fled to the surface...sadly with all her memories wiped out but her parents, the King and Queen of the Underworld hoped that she'll return one day. Years later Ofelia *Princess Moanna* moved in with new father as her mom remarried and barred the Captain's child. Though it was a Spanish movie...they had the same thinking as Chinese...or maybe the olden days as a son is very important. Well, her mom was sick because of her pregnancy and her step dad was least bothered about her presence. Ofelia reads a lot of fairytale stories that her parents think that she's delusional. She met a faun who recognize her as the long lost Princess Moanna. She was tested with 3 tasks to prove that she's really Princess Moanna before the full moon. The last task was the task that got her shot dead by her step dad as she was told by the faun to bring her younger baby brother to the Labyrinth. But as she died, her blood drips down to the Labyrinth and was welcome back by her parents. It was a test by the faun when the faun wanted a drip of the baby's blood...but she refused. She made that sacrifice...knowing that she might return to the underworld if she followed what the faun said....but instead, she sacrificed for her baby brother whom she barely knew. Her death was priceless... because she gave up what she wanted most for the one she cared...How many of us these days are willing to sacrifice our wants...our desire...our passion.........for someone that is or will be very important in our life? but the person who is willing to do so.....is a person of great value.
*sweet*

Lastly...300 dead Spartans but King Leonidas was the main character as he was King. He started a war that can be avoided if he just pay the "taxes". Oh well, he's a Spartan and my guess is that he's very frustrated about his wife's skill in bed that he had to go out killing hundreds of soldiers. Ok Ok, the fact is I think is that Spartans lived by the words, no surrender, no turning back and lots more of ball-ful statement. But what was his death means? Did he go into history just because he killed alot of people like gamers these days with high frags on CounterStrike? He died living by the law of Spartans that will be passed down to the next generation...but if he didn't and decide to pay the "taxes".Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket..there won't be this movie...there won't be 300 Spartans that made history. He died keeping a tradition...a very respectful thing to do. It's like in the current time now where some parents really want to keep a tradition going.

The end of these 3 characters has great meaning to it...Remember them...Remember the Name
